    Relax your body and calm your mind!

    This retreat is a unique opportunity to take a pause amidst the chaos of the world and your life to immerse yourself in the calm and beauty of Growing Heart Farm.

    • We will share gentle silence as a means to access the inner calm that can help us to more deeply engage in the rest of our lives.
    • We will practice Yin Yoga together to access deeper acceptance and presence with our bodies and lives while releasing deeply held stress.
    • Throughout the weekend we will remain in gentle social silence in order to more deeply feel our own experience, and become more attuned to the world around us.
    • We will share fresh, home-cooked, plant-based meals prepared by a local chef, using fresh produce grown on her farm.
    • A variety of rooming options are offered as a sliding-scale approach to broaden financial accessibility.

    Meditation practices will be offered with the beginner in mind and will include:

    • seated meditation
    • walking meditation
    • guided meditation
    • eating meditation

    to strengthen awareness and focus and to encourage calmness and a fresh outlook to arise.

    Cross the threshold into 2021 with an intentional yoga and guided meditation mini-retreat from the comfort of your home.

    About this event

    End 2020 and begin 2021 with guided practices to nurture your well-being on this beginner-friendly, at-home mini-retreat. Participate in yoga, guided meditation, and iRest® practices to start your year off with intentionality.

    All participants will receive a link to retreat videos, which will be available through January 10th. While we encourage participation in live sessions at the times outlined below, concurrent presence is not necessary (and yes, you can "redo" practices during these 10 days!). This schedule supports an early, rejuvenating night's sleep on New Year's Eve, or leaves space for revelry alongside nurturing practices.

    Tickets are available on a sliding scale.

    *No one will be turned away for lack of funds, please message us with any questions.

    Practice Info:

    Yoga Flow: A flowing yoga practice to awaken and rejuvenate the entire body; suitable for all levels.

    Yin Yoga: Introspective, floor-based practice with longer-held gravity-assisted poses designed to meet your body where it is.

    iRest® Yoga Nidra: A guided practice that promotes deep relaxation and integration, which has shown clinical improvement for a variety of physical and mental conditions.

    Guided Meditation: Presence and awareness practices designed by Dr. Terrizzi promoting relaxation and regulation.

     

    About Evan & Joanie:

    Evan Joblin, Founder and Facilitator of Yoga Otzma, earned his Master’s degree (with a focus on creative writing and philosophy) at the University of Pennsylvania before going on to study herbal medicine in Israel, complete yoga teacher trainings in both the United States and Kenya (with Africa Yoga Project), and teacher trainings in Five Element Dance and Breathwork modalities on a tropical Thai island. Evan brings custom-designed, in-person and online yoga/wellness programs to Hillel Centers across the country. In addition to his endeavors in the wellness realm, Evan is a working freelance artist and an avid world traveler. Having explored over 40 countries in the past several years, Evan has been preparing a large-scale painting and writing project based on his adventures. You can see his work at www.evanjoblin.com

    Dr. Joanie Terrizzi teaches mindfulness to students, teachers, and parents. Joanie trained with the organization Mindful Schools, she is a 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and has further trained in Yin Yoga with Biff Mithoefer. She is an iRest® Level 2 Teacher, is attuned to Reiki Level II, and has certificates in Clinical Hypnosis and Integrative Wellness Coaching through Saybrook University. Joanie completed two trainings in yoga for children, is completing her Death Doula certification, and holds a master's degree in library science.     A mid-winter mini-retreat from the comfort of your home. Cultivate space for introspection, intentional yoga, and guided meditation.

    About this event

    Participate in guided practices to nurture your well-being on this beginner-friendly, at-home mini-retreat. Join in yoga, guided meditation, and iRest® practices designed to capitalize on the opportunity for the introspection that winter provides. Reap the benefits of winter’s stillness and explore its connection to our inner rhythms.

    One month-ish into 2021, this retreat offers the opportunity to look at our intentions for how we want to be in the world this year through a lens aligned with what the seasons present to us. Holding the stillness of winter and finding firm ground in a chaotic world, we can prepare for a vibrancy that hints at its return with the daily-increasing sunlight.

    We would love for you to join us in the live sessions at the times outlined below if you are able, and if not, you are welcome to practice along with recordings of the sessions at your convenience. All participants will receive a link to retreat videos, which will be available through February 17th. (and yes, you can "redo" practices during these 10 days!).

    Gentle Movement Practice: Release tension through guided and freeform movement practices.
